Guild Wars~~~ World of Warcraft~~~City of Heroes/City of Villains~~~ Lineage II
~~~Ragnarok~~~ FFXI~~~Warhammer Online~~~ Vanguard
I have the very good fortune to work for Arena.net, where I'm a Game Designer and Lead
Writer for Guild Wars. Arena.net, in case you really do live in a box, is a design house of
NCSoft, the makers of City of Heroes, City of Villains, Lineage 2 and other games.
I make the games, and of course, I play them~!
Ragnarok Online
Ragnarok Online
So, these are old screenshots of Ragnarok online.
The game was cute, fun to play, helped me learn
Japanese, basically just a way to pass the time -
and it's based on Norse Mythology. Way cool.
I have a lot of good memories of this game, even
though I don't think it was ever released in the US.
I played on the Chaos server and worked up a High Priest (a
Transcendent class) and then played a Gunslinger.
So, look again at what the game *used* to be like...
... and now look what Ragnarok Online 2: The Gate of the World
will be like! These are shots taken during the first Beta! Holy crap,
it's gorgeous. Open beta starts in the Fall of 2007, and I'm
already signed up. Check out their teaser site - the soundtrack's
by Yoko Kanno. Prease ignore the engrish~!
Ragnarok Online
Guild Wars
Guild Wars
My main Guild Wars PC (not the one on my Dev account, the one I actually play!) is
Jhaq Whitechapel, Necromancer/Monk extraordinaire. I run pretty much all classes for
PVPing, depending on what I'm in the mood to kick your ass with. In Nightfall, I'll
be playing a Dervish/Elementalist... Get ready for some pain on the Guild Ladder!
Warhammer Online
I Invoke Chaos...
I'll put a few trailers and preview shots here - are you as excited about WhO as I am?
I used to wargame with the minis, now I get to bash them on my computer, too. One of my friends is writing text
for this game, and I get to see the occasional alpha screen... I'm so looking forward to Warhammer Online.
World of Warcraft
Menorah, Hunter Blood Elves Riel, Priest
World of Warcraft! My original character was a Troll Shaman. She became the first on our server (and third in the record-book overall) to achieve a
cross-race mount (epic Wolf!). My current main is Riel, an undead priest in the Horde who will be hitting 70 as soon as Burning Crusade comes out.
She's collecting Vestments of Faith (Naxxramus) and has other insane gear; she's the pentultimate grocery list of Ultimate Cheese. The guild
I chartered is #1 Horde-side on our server, and in the top 10% of overall guilds. For the Horde!
Between raids, I played a little Alliance. Pfft. Alliance has it so easy! It only took three weeks to level up Menorah, a Night Elf Hunter whom I play
for the amusement of occasionally doing things on the kiddie route. All right, I admit it... I keep her for the cat. The riding-cat is way cool.
At this point, I've been doing beta testing for WoW, working with a Blood Elf Priest and a Draenei Mage... if you don't like pinkpinkpink
don't go to the Draenei city! Gaaah! on my Blood Elf mage, and have played just about every class up to 40th level except Rogue (sooo boring)
and Paladin (sooo cheesy). ~Ah, well. At least the GMs are fun.
Vanguard
Vanguard
So, Vanguard. The poor little game that tried. If they'd had more time in Beta, more character animations, and more
*heart*, I just might have liked the game. I did try. They bragged about their character creation customization...
but it just made everyone look pretty much the same anyway. The backgrounds were gorgeous... the characters were
monkey-ass-ugly. The classes are broken (play a Disciple sometime), and the story is.. lackluster. I got to level 16,
was fighting 3 monsters of level 20 at the same time... a slow fight, but no way were they going to kill me. Broken.
Ah, well - Back to LotR online!
Lineage II
Elf
Lineage II is one of those amazing games that silly Americans never even seemed to realize was out there.
Lineage II: The Chaotic Chronicle is the sequel to the Korean game, Lineage. It has over 14 million subscribers
worldwide (mostly in Asia; good thing I speak a little Japanese!).
City of Heroes/City of Villains
I played City of Heroes for a little over a year, maxing out an Empathy/Energy Defender, Whitechapel. Unfortunately,
after my roommate Kevin broke the game (the man just had to explain to the Cryptic execs how broken Tanks were
when they were playtesting the CCG that he designed for them), and Cryptic decided to nerf the gameplay
significantly, I lost a lot of interest. I have a comp'ed account, though, so I still play occasionally.
FFXI
I have to dig these up - they're buried under a large pile of apathy somewhere on my old computer.
I might have liked this game (despite significant game balance and inferface flaws) if it wasn't for all the stupid furries.
Ew. I'll go play FF12 now. Thanks anyway.
